Welcome to Seoul Fried Chicken

560 Metcalfe Rd, Ferndale WA 6148, Australia

General Info

Tucked away at 560 Metcalfe Rd in Ferndale, this Korean restaurant is a go-to spot when you’re craving bold, comforting flavors with a modern twist. From the moment you walk in, there’s a relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes it easy to settle in, whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or planning a laid-back dinner with friends.

The menu leans heavily into what they do best-Seoul fried chicken-and it shows in every bite. The Sweet and Spicy Chicken is easily a standout, coated in a glossy sauce that balances heat and sweetness without overpowering the crispy texture. If you prefer something a little milder but still packed with flavor, the Honey Soy Wings deliver that perfect sticky finish with a savory edge. For those who like variety, the boneless options are just as satisfying. Both the Sweet & Chilli Boneless Chicken and the Original Boneless Chicken are juicy, tender, and ideal for sharing-or not.

What really impressed me during my visit was how well everything paired together. The chips, served alongside some of the chicken options, added that familiar comfort-food element, making the meal feel hearty and complete. On a cooler day, the Chicken Soup or Noodle Soup would be a solid choice too-simple, warming, and full of depth without being too heavy.

Service here is straightforward and efficient. You can dine in and enjoy the casual atmosphere, or opt for delivery if you’re staying in. The onsite service feels attentive without being intrusive, which adds to the overall experience. Plus, having a free parking lot right outside makes the visit even more convenient, especially if you’re coming from nearby locations.

From what I’ve seen and heard in reviews, this place has built a solid reputation for consistency. The food arrives hot, the portions are generous, and the flavors stay true every time. It’s the kind of restaurant you return to when you want something reliable but still exciting.

Whether you’re exploring Korean cuisine for the first time or already a fan of Seoul fried chicken, this spot offers a menu that’s easy to navigate and hard to forget.

“ One of the best restaurants. The Donkatsu here is very big, crispy and delicious. Not greasy at all, especially the sauce was unique and very delicious. The chicken I had here before was the best, but the Donkatsu was even better. We sat at a well-organized table in a clean place and ate comfortably. Next time, we're going to try other dishes. And one more thing, this restaurant doesn't require customers to pay card fees. These days, many restaurants, stores, and cafes require customers to pay card fees when paying for their cards. So I think this restaurant has a conscientious owner, which is very commendable. ---------------------------------------------- We visited again yesterday. Still, the owner was friendly, the pork cutlet got bigger and richer, and it was delicious. I was really satisfied. I didn't take any pictures, but Honey Soy Chicken was the best. ”

“ up until recently i’ve only ever bussed past this place. i came here with a friend for dinner there was nobody else really around except for like 2 people waiting for pickup. so after we ordered it took around 15-20mins for our food to arrive which is fine if you’re catching up with others or reading the most peak manga of all time but for $13 i unironically think this is some of the greatest fried chicken in perth for the value ever AND made to order. we got chicken and chips in 2 flavors to share, honey soy and sweet n spicy. the portion overall was a little more than i expected and we finished absolutely everything. the chicken is so SO juicy and flavorful and hot, it’s all coated in the sauce. the honey soy doesn’t look super covered but trust it IS covered and very tasty. i preference the sweet and spicy but if you’re not a spice freak the honey soy is also an absolute delight. also the chips are on the salty side if that’s your thing, and the sauce flows into them a little giving extra flavor particularly the sweet n spicy. man this dish was so so so good this is why local supporting is peak we also got a pickled radish mini plastic bowl thing which i didn’t snap a pic of but it’s basically white cubes in brine with the texture of [insert crunchy food object here] and it tastes not bad at all. good to balance out the saltiness imo READ ATTACK ON TITAN IT IS PEAK i know it’s in korean here but read it. i am coming back here for sure this is a must for fried chicken enjoyers ”

“ Very well priced! We ordered two types of chicken with chips for $13 each. The chips were AMAZING The chicken wasn't piping hot, but tasty enough. It's not as juicy as 7 Grams, but it's excellent value for money and the server was super nice and polite. ”

“ The atmosphere and food is really good. The location is near the bus stop too. The only downside is the location is a little bit secluded (truly a hidden gem) and ordering is a little bit hard as sometimes the staff are not present in the cashier. I got a few wrong orders because of the communication matter so I would suggest just pointing at the menu and checking the receipt to see if everything is correct. The staff gave me the garlic sauce to make up for the missed order, so it's okay actually. ”

“ Absolutely the best fried chicken in Perth. We tried the chili boneless, sweet and spicy boneless and garlic boneless. There is a slight wait after ordering because it is being cooked fresh but it's completely worth it. Large portions. ”

“ Came here for dinner and it was really tasty fried chicken, we ordered honey soy and original chicken alongside kimchi fried rice. The chicken was perfectly fried and they tasted amazing! Only minor downside was that you have to wait a fair bit to be served at the counter. ”

“ After searching on Google,my son & I stumbled on this hidden gem as he craved for some KFC. We usually go to Chicken Lab in Rivervale but wanted somewhere closer SOR. We went quite early in the evening maybe just before 5pm. The restaurant itself was simple, clean & uncluttered. There was just another family dining in & we noticed quite a number of pick ups for take away We ordered a plate of original & sweet & spicy chicken, a serve of chips & each was reasonably priced. We also shared a main dish of spicy pork bulgogi served with some steanwd rice (no pic). Everything was delicious but we probably won’t bother with the main dish next time as it was pretty average & it came pretty late - as we almost finished the chicken & chips. Our bill was $60. ”
